BABYBJÖRN Potty Chair

It is a funny thing when you're overly excited about a potty chair.

I have been researching (as always) reviews for great potty chairs. I never knew how many different options there were! There were wooden ones that looked like actual chairs with little potty cups in the middle, there were slot machine potty chairs, ones that sing and hold toilet paper, and then your basic simple potty chairs. My husband didn't care which one he had (big shocker) and I just wanted one that was simple and just got the job done. Though there were plenty to choose from with great reviews, I figure that this is one of those things where there is no one answer. What will work for that particular child best, and what works for them and their parent will be the answer. I finally settled on the Spring Green BabyBjörn Potty Chair. It has a high splash guard (great for boys), has an ergonomic design, and is simply a potty chair. I am going to start sitting him on it before bath time and just slowly get him acquainted with sitting on it for awhile. Depending on how he does over time, I will see when it seems like he is ready to train full force. I think it'd be awesome to get him potty trained before he goes to daycare, but he is not yet 1 1/2 so I will be patient with the whole thing.

My plan is to get him used to going, then hopefully not long after that I might buy that BabyBjörn seat attachment that just sits on the regular toilet. I thought about just getting that in the first place after my brother mentioned them, because it would knock two birds out with one stone, but he's not the greatest at stepping up things, so I didn't think the step stool and seat lid would be the best option for right now.

I will have to update soon after it arrives and post on how this pre-potty training thing is going for us!

Bumkins Bibs

I want to say that I did a good amount of research on new bibs about 6 months ago. We were out of the baby spit up stage and he was long overdue for some better bibs. I found great reviews on Bumkins bibs on many websites. The other bibs seemed to mold after time or not dry quick enough. I bought him a couple to start with and they did the job! Easy to clean with soap and water after mealtime, hang dry, and by the next meal it is dry! They are also machine-washable and come in cute designs. I planned on getting him some more, but these two have hung in there and are all I need. The bottom of the bib holds all the dropped food and his eating is a little bit easier to clean up afterwards. I love them!

It's been awhile....

I haven't posted in a bit due to visits and a bunch of other things... My mom, dad, brother, and aunt all came to visit for 2 weeks recently and all went well, especially considering we were crammed into a 2-bedroom apartment! Yep, it is definitely time for a larger space. A great thing about their recent visit was that Christopher really thrived from all the family around and the extra attention. I would guess it gets boring sometimes with only Mommy, so he was quite happy.

We are still planning on moving to Atlanta but it is taking longer than we expected. He is still in his EMT classes and I am still a student. I am going to be applying for jobs again full-force after the new year rolls around. I am going to guess it will be 2/3 years (tops) until we get out of this hellhole.....lol I picture our life in Atlanta and it is going to be awesome! I'm sure at first we'll move into another 3-bedroom apartment to get our savings on for a house. I am excited to make Atlanta my home and finally settle down somewhere for once in my life.

Other than all that, things are great. I finally got a Christmas tree this year, and suffice to say, it was about time. It feels more like the holidays now and I should kick myself for not doing it sooner. Surprisingly enough, Christopher has not made one move to touch or mess with the tree. Maybe he has a game plan that I don't know about yet.....lol

Also, hubby will not be going home in January, instead he will be gone for the month of April. It is a positive change and works out in our favor. He is really excited to see his sister get married and also to participate in all the functions that his family will be having at that time. I am happy for him.

I guess that is it for now, I will be writing on here more often now that I have found my brain again.
